Gere met Raghunath in January 2015 on the Thailand Storytelling Tour. That fall, Gere joined Raghunath’s storytelling tour of India.

After telling their tales this year in Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia, Raghunath is touring Hawaii public libraries, with free shows at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Mountain View and 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kealakekua.

Gere blends talents as a painter, puppeteer and mime into performances for audiences in Hawaii for 30 years. His physical energy, morphing elastic face and voices make his shows entertaining events.

Raghunath has pioneered the storytelling movement on India’s east coast (Tamil Nadu). Her storytelling style includes a million voices, a kinetic body, huge laughs and some tears. Her stories include a wide range of Indian and Asian folk tales, European tales, family stories, true-life incidents and cross-cultural and modern narratives.
